Running for Premature Babies

John Stanley

John Stanley chats with Sophie Smith, Founder of Running for premature babies.

Sophie’s charity Running for Premature Babies, has launched the “Premmie Marathon Challenge”, a virtual event throughout November to coincide with international ‘Prematurity Awareness Month’.

The aim is to help raise funds to provide neonatal equipment to hospitals around Australia and help give sick and premature babies a better chance of survival.

Sophie shares how this charity holds a special place in her heart after she lost her triplets at birth.

John also speaks to Heather Lee, a 95-year-old great-grandmother who will be tackling a 200km walk over November to raise money for Sophie’s children charity.

Anyone can join in, and you don’t need to run or be fit, you can choose your challenge, from 21 km through to a monster 300 km.

It’s free to run, and you can register at Sophie’s website.
