Luke Grant is joined by Glen Nagle, NASA’s Deep Space Network, Canberra Deep Space Communication Complex, for his take on Richard Branson’s team of six launching this morning on a voyage to the edge of space.

The billionaire took off from a base in New Mexico aboard a Virgin Galactic vessel bound for the edge of space.

His official role is to elevate the private astronaut experience to enhance the journey for future clients.

‘I have dreamt about this moment since I was a child, but going to space was more magical than I ever imagined’, tweeted Mr Branson upon his return.
