Recognising Australian Women’s Health Week

This week is Australian Women’s Health Week…a  week when attention is deliberately drawn to the myriad of health conditions that affect women, and the availability of proactive health and well-being promoting information and tips on how to achieve and maintain good health.

It’s promoted by the association ‘Jean Hailes for Women’s Health’, which has been appointed by the Australian Government as a national digital source of public health information for women.

But it’s often General Practitioners from local health centres who are at the coalface helping women identify and manage their health.

Dr Bronwyn Edwards from the Fox Valley Medical & Dental Centre at Sydney Adventist Hospital joins John Stanley to discuss, in particular, the health of plus 50 year old women. It is important given we are all living longer, and need to be remain well and agile to look after ourselves and our families.
