Clinton Maynard talks to Daniel Gschwind, Chief Executive of QTIC (Queensland Tourism Industry Council – Queensland’s peak tourism industry body, who welcomes the influx of southern tourists from today while still dealing with chronic staff shortages that could affect the busy summer period.

Mr Gschwind says he was glad common sense prevailed on the border opening, saying “we can’t remain an island forever”, but warned that the return of international tourists could take years.
