Pure electric sales help Volvo to record sales levels

Volvo Australia’s strategy to go pure electric by 2026, four years ahead of its
parent company, seems more than possible after 49 per cent of its sales in
August were electric-only models. The Swedish brand currently enjoying strong
demand for its small XC40 SUV which year to date represents over 50 per cent of
its sales. Also arriving in the first quarter of next year is the small pure electric
Volvo EX30 SUV with the company currently holding 800 pre orders. The EX30
with a starting price of $59,990 will come in a single motor entry variant with a
range of 480km as well as a high-performance dual motor model with a 460km
range. Also due late next year from Volvo, the large electric EX90 seven-seat SUV
which promises a 600km range from a single charge. I’m David Berthon
