Port Stephens hit with three COVID-19 cases

Three new cases of COVID-19 have been detected in Port Stephens, north of Newcastle.

The cases are believed to be linked to an infected Sydney man aged in his 60s.

Goodstart Anna Bay Childcare Centre, Tomaree Public School, and Tomaree High School will be closed tomorrow for contact tracing and deep cleaning.

Member for Port Stephens Kate Washington highlights her worries for an ageing community, and concern about impacts on travel.

“There is high demand for testing, and everyone is being requested to get tested if they experience any symptoms

“[Healthcare workers] are under immense strain and we are inevitably going to need a lot more

“I wouldn’t wish it on any community across the state”.
