NRL CEO responds to ‘weak gutted dog’ comment

The Panthers’ 26-6 win over the Raiders has been overshadowed by comments in the post-match conference for the Raiders.

Coach Ricky Stuart labeled Panthers half Jaeman Salmon a “weak-gutted dog,” after an incident involving the half and Raiders hooker Tom Starling.

Stuart has released a public apology, with the NRL to investigate the matter.

NRL CEO Andrew Abdo joined The Continuous Call Team to share his thoughts and where to from here.

“I’m disappointed by his comments and it’s inappropriate for anyone to talk like that about another player… we’re going to review the matter thoroughly,” says Abdo.
