MG’s impressive first quarter with sales up 581 percent

Motor Torque

MG as a brand has a rich history in Australia – the British sports car brand was founded in 1924 – the letters derived from the name Morris Garages, that company’s General Manager Cecil Kimber finding a niche market for modified Morris cars that were faster and a little more sporty.
Of course the brand has come full circle today – MG now part of the giant Chinese Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation. In Australia, MG Motor can now lay claim to be the fastest growing automotive company this year – sales in the first quarter up a healthy 581 percent.
