MG has updated to its small ZS electric SUV with revised looks, a new battery pack and some new technology. Available in two models, both $1,000 dearer, the Excite now from $44,990 drive-away and the better equipped Essence at $48,990 drive-away. The latest MG ZS EV has had its driving range boosted by 57 km to 320 km thanks to a larger 50.3 kWhour battery. The recent arrival of competitor BYD’s Atto 3 from $44,381 is believed behind MG’s backflip on larger price rises for the updated MG ZS EV in an effort for it to maintain its title as our most affordable electric car. The ZS facelift sees a new body coloured grille with integrated charge port, revised LED headlights and taillights and new front and rear bumpers.
