Memories of that fateful day Ash Wednesday forty years ago

Firefighter and Group Officer Rob Styling from SA relives that day when bush fires ravaged Victoria and South Australia taking the lives of 47 in Victoria and 28 in South Australia including 17 firefighters. Radio broadcaster Murray Nicoll called into his Adelaide radio station on a two-way as he watched his own house burn down. Rob describes the roar of the fire and how the smoke lingered in the air for weeks and months afterwards.
