Luke Grant’s catch-up with Aussie mum Lisa living in Israel

Clinton Maynard

Luke checks in with Lisa Segelov, an Australian-born lawyer who has been a long-time resident of Israel whom he spoke to last week, to get an update on her concerns regarding her three children. They have been called up by the Israeli army to participate in operations against Hamas.

Ms. Segelov moved to Israel in her twenties and currently works as a lawyer in Tel Aviv. Her children hold dual Australian-Israeli citizenship. Her daughter, who recently celebrated her 19th birthday, is currently fulfilling her mandatory military service in an elite unit.

Meanwhile, her two sons were recently drafted as reservists due to speculation about a possible ground assault in Gaza. One of her sons, a 22-year-old, serves as an operations soldier in a tank unit, while the other son is a member of a combat tank unit.
