Lote Tuqiri: The Pride in the Past is Not There

Continuous Call Team

Lote Tuqiri has done it all as a player. A Queensland legend, he despairs at the plight of his beloved Brisbane Broncos.

“It’s very, very disappointing as an ex-player to see the club on its knees and the way things have transpired over the last few weeks”.

“When I was coming through, I knew the history of the club. The old boys took pride in coming in and helping out, talking to us at barbecues and captain’s runs. That sort of thing doesn’t seem to be happening anymore.
I don’t know there’s pride in the past as much as there should be.”

On the proposed hybrid match between the Kangaroos and the All Blacks, the dual international loves it. “I’d definitely watch it”.
