Loss of Chinese market a “huge blow” for barley growers

The loss of exporting barley to China is being described as a “huge blow” for grain growers who’ve been battling consecutive years of drought.

Beijing has implemented an 80 percent tariff on our barley, claiming Australia had dumped the product in China at a discounted price.

Those accusations are being refuted by the Federal Government which is considering referring the matter to the World Trade Organisation.
