As the urban sprawl from our capital cities continues, there’s increased pressure on livestock saleyards in peri urban areas.

In Victoria, the Geelong Saleyards has held its final auctions, leaving farmers with a 3 hour round trip to their nearest facility.

Rural reporter Eddie Summerfield spoke with Victorian Farmers Federation Livestock chairman Leonard Vallance to find out more.
