Kia’s small Seltos SUV – Value packed entry S automatic under $30 000
Driving Kia’s small Seltos SUV – the fourth best seller in small SUV’s. A nine-
model automatic range in front or all-wheel drive depending on model. Recently
upgraded I drove the entry 2.0 naturally aspirated Kia Seltos S, a real value
package just under $30,000 now with added safety and more features including
alloy wheels. Importantly it shines with some of the best interior room in its class
especially in the rear, also matched by above average load space – in this entry
model finishes are rather conservative, but the storage elements are great, and
the kids will appreciate the air vents in the rear. It only gets a space saver spare
wheel whereas the balance of the range gets a full-size spare. The Kia Seltos
importantly enjoys a five-star ANCAP safety rating and in addition to a suite of
active safety elements now gains reverse cross – traffic alert. The long
rectangular tough screen and associated instrument panel very user friendly with
wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto but disappointingly lacking a phone
charging pad. Great seats but without seat height adjustment on the passenger
seat. This a great SUV for a small family, well priced and well supported with a
seven year/unlimited kilometre warranty. Drive impressions next.
