Kia Picanto new model introduces firsts for entry level car
Talking further on the Kia’s new Picanto just arriving in showrooms – the outgoing model one of my favourite light five-door hatches – the new model introducing some firsts for an entry level car. When I think back to what light cars offered in this class when I first started testing cars in 1981 what this new Picanto offers for the money is amazing. Visually little different but now featuring advanced high strength steel it’s stronger yet lighter, a 15mm longer wheelbase providing more room for front seat passengers plus 20% larger luggage space. Now available in five-speed manual at $13,990 drive-away, $15,690 in four-speed auto which buys you a reversing camera, rear parking sensors with dynamic guidelines, cruise control, a 7-inch touch screen, Apple Car Play and Android Auto, dusk-sensing headlights, electronic stability control, six airbags and a 7-year warranty, capped price service program and road side assist. The new Kia Picanto offers an amazing amount of value for an entry five-door hatchback. I’m David Berthon
