Kabul bombings a dark day for Afghanistan

Luke Grant

Chris chats to PETER JENNINGS Executive Director of the Australian Strategic Policy Institute – one of our leading authorities on matters of defence and national security. At yesterday’s Press Conference the Prime Minister said that all Australian Defence Personnel had already left Afghanistan and weren’t impacted by the blast but the opportunities for getting anyone left in Afghanistan out of the country now “will be very restricted”. What is Australia’s position now and going forward? Peter describes the history of the Taliban and the emerging extremist groups including ISIS-K who have taken responsibility for the Kabul airport bombing and gives his thoughts on President Biden’s actions. Dark days ahead.
