It’s time to make the call on daylight savings

Clinton Maynard

Mike is joined by Nic Hayes, Media Commentator and Managing Director of Media Stable, to discuss the need for national consistency in daylight saving time across Australia.

Mr Hayes argues that the current system with five time zones is untenable and proposes either a national referendum or a decisive action from Canberra to resolve the issue.

Drawing a comparison with the United States, where the federal government oversees time zones, Hayes advocates for a similar approach in Australia. He suggests that while aligning public holidays may be challenging, harmonizing time zones is feasible and necessary for efficiency.
