Is NSW green hydrogen industry is set to take off?

Luke Grant

Chris discusses the reality of hydrogen becoming an integral part of our energy sources with DR THOMAS LONGDEN an energy economist with Australian National University. This new bill passed in Parliament includes $70 million to develop hydrogen hubs in the Illawarra and Hunter region, exemptions from government charges for green hydrogen products, funding for infrastructure for production and a hydrogen refuelling station network roll out across the State. But what does it all mean for the average consumer? How will hydrogen be used for household consumption and what will it cost? What’s the difference between blue and green hydrogen? Will we have hydrogen buses? Dr Longden answers these questions from an economic and practical perspective.
