Increase in COVID cases but no need to be alarmed

Luke Grant

With COVID-19 cases on the rise in NSW, particularly throughout pubs, clubs, and other indoor social settings, the NSW government is once again reminding us to maintain our personal COVID-19 safety measures.

Infectious diseases expert Professor Robert Booy says that while COVID-19 cases are increasing “we need to get on with our lives”.

However, he says we should avoid close personal contact where possible and instead use “elbow bumps… and smiles”.

When asked about the recent government decision to allow children over five to get the vaccine, Professor Booy says he is confident this is the right time.

Infectious diseases expert Robert Booy joins Luke Grant to discuss the recent rise in COVID-19 infections in NSW and COVID-19 vaccines for kids.
