Hyundai’s Palisade SUV – when big can be beautiful

Driving Hyundai’s relatively new upper large Palisade SUV today – The Hyundai Palisade is a big SUV for a big country but also a big family – designed for a family that want an SUV but don’t want a heavy duty off-roader or need to tow. Bigger to the Korean car makers Sante Fe – 200mm longer and 75mm wider. It comes in two luxury grades – the base Palisade 8-seater or the Highlander as a seven-seater with a no cost 8-seat option. available in 3.8-litre V6 petrol front wheel drive or 2.2-litre turbo diesel all-wheel-drive – both 8-speed automatic.
Prices depending on model run from $60,000 to 75,000. As you can imagine passenger accommodation is impressive – as an 8-seater with 2-3-3 seating layout plus a stack of luggage space, great for a large family with impressive shoulder room.
Safety impressive with head airbags running the full cabin length and third row seats getting their own ventilation. In fact, the distance front to back so long Hyundai has added a speaker system so the driver doesn’t need to yell. Towing capacity 2,200kgs, fitted with a full-size spare, the Hyundai Palisade loaded with safety and convenience equipment, both grades getting leather seating – only lacking a power tailgate on the entry model which is a real minus. Apart from that the equipment list impressive. Warranty – five-years/ unlimited kilometre.
