Honda’s 10th generation Accord sedan soon to arrive in showrooms.

Motor Torque

The Honda Accord nameplate has been around for a long time – first introduced in 1976 as a compact model and highly popular here. Over the years the Accord has grown in size and price but its volume has shrunk and just 125 have been sold this year. The 10th generation model will soon arrive in showrooms. the Thai-built front-drive sedan in two models – the 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbo VTi-LX CVT automatic at $47,990 and the 2.0-litre petrol-electric Hybrid at $50,490, a fourteen percent saving on the outgoing model. The 3.5-litre V6 has been dropped, Honda suggesting the 1.5-litre turbo that replaces the long-standing 2.4-litre VT-L offers a 20 per cent improvement in fuel consumption, with a claimed 6.5L/100km on the city/country cycle. The new Accord is slightly shorter, slightly wider and sits on a 55mm longer wheelbase. Just one trim level with 8-way power leather seats and a very high level of safety, comfort and convenience features.
