Honda Civic: cutting edge design
This time last year we saw a new Honda Civic in sedan form and in a month’s time the long- awaited hatchback variant arrives in showrooms. The 10 th generation Civic sedan introduced a bold and edgy look that has been well received and it is now Honda’s no 2 seller behind its popular HR-V SUV. The five-door Honda Civic hatch is also a rather cutting edge design – like the sedan built in Thailand, it will arrive in a five-model range that mimics the sedan grades – the entry VTi kicks off at 22.390 running to 33,590 for the top of the line VTi-LX. While Honda have the small Jazz hatch it’s been out of the larger main stream small hatchback market for some time – the two entry Civic hatches VTi and VTiS get the proven 1.8-litre VTEC four cylinder while the VTi-L, Sporty RS and flagship VTi-LX gain an all-new 1.5-litre Turbocharged four – all models fitted with a CVT or continuously variable automatic.
