Helicopter crash off Jervis Bay coast

ACT Policing have confirmed that they’re working with Defence on an incident at Jervis Bay south of Sydney.

NSW Ambulance have confirmed that nine patients were onboard, escaping with very minor injuries. No ambulance was required.

Caller Michael told John Stanley he saw the crash.

UPDATE 12:05AM

The Department of Defence issued this statement early on Thursday morning:

Defence can confirm a helicopter incident occurred near Jervis Bay, New South Wales on the evening of 22 March 2023.

All Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel on board have been safely recovered from the water.

At this time Defence’s priority is supporting the ADF members involved in the incident and their families.
