Health Matters: Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, this provides an opportunity to focus on and raise awareness of breast cancer and its impact on those affected by the disease.

Breast cancer remains the most common cancer among Australian women. Positively, survival rates continue to improve in Australia with 89 out of every 100 women diagnosed with invasive breast cancer now surviving five or more years beyond diagnosis.

When treating breast cancer there are often surgical options, The San’s Dr Farid Meybodi, specialist Oncoplastic Breast and Endocrine Surgeon joins John Stanley to discuss.
