Getting the blend right for future fertilisers

Animal waste could one day be converted into a fertiliser with the same characteristics as manufactured fertilisers.

The University of Southern Queensland has commissioned a lab-scale granulator, to study how organic waste materials can best be combined with minerals to create “organo-mineral” fertilisers.

Rural reporter Madelaine McNeill caught up with USQ’s Centre of Agricultural Engineering Director Professor Bernadette McCabe to find out more.
