Two weeks out from the budget we are getting mixed messages from Anthony Albanese and Jim Chalmers. In Sydney the PM is announcing an extra $600m for paid parental leave while in Washington the Treasurer is telling us there have to be cuts and a conversation about tax. Wages and industrial relations is another area of contested political ground after the Productivity Commission warned about the dangers of changing bargaining. And Dennis shares his thoughts on former PM Paul Keating’s comments on AUKUS.
