While the number of on-farm deaths has declined in recent years, there’s still calls for better improvement.

Advocates are calling for more awareness and funding to support farmers work safely.

Since 2001 more than 1700 individuals have lost their lives due to non-intentional incidents, but since 2018 the number of deaths has halved.

Rural reporter Georgia Kondek had a chat with Aghealth Farm Safety Research Manager Kerri-Lyn Peachy says machine maintenance checks will help prevent accidents.
