European offer for Australian sugar mill
Mackay Sugar could be partially foreign owned in the coming months.
A non-binding proposal from German company Nordzucker is proposing to take a seventy percent stake in the struggling mill.
If successful it’ll see upgrades of mills, and the $2 per tonne grower contribution repaid.
