Divide over return of Islamic State brides

The controversial repatriation of the families of Islamic State fighters is being supported by humanitarian groups, despite security concerns for Australians.

Four women and their 13 children have arrived in Australia after being rescued from a Syrian detention camp.

Speaking on The Chris Smith Show, Save the Children Chief Executive Mat Tinkler says the women and children needed to be rescued from the horrific conditions they were under.

The plan has drawn several concerns over safety and security.

But Mat Tinkler says these can be managed.
