Crime File: The Murder of Donald Mackay

On the evening of 15 July 1977 anti-drug campaigner, Donald Mackay, went missing from the car park of a Griffith hotel as he left to make his way home to his family. Located in the North-Western part of the Riverina region of NSW, Griffith was once known as ‘the food bowl of Australia’. When Donald Mackay disappeared, Griffith was known as ‘the grass capital of Australia’ which was undoubtedly the cause of Mackay’s sudden disappearance.
