COVID reminds of the importance of giving

John Stanley

We are on the countdown to Christmas, and it’s the season of giving. After the year we have had, we thought it might be worth finding out about community giving – donations to good causes – who gives and why, how that’s changed, and what impact has COVID had.

Not unsurprisingly, a report by Fund Raising Australia indicates that donations during the COVID crisis have declined, but thankfully it’s also clear COVID has made us reflect on what is really important in life, reaffirmed the need for connection, and the need for people to feel they have a purpose.

Karen Gair is Managing Director of the San Foundation which supports Sydney Adventist Hospital by funding additional equipment, services and resources, that otherwise mightn’t be available. Karen joins John Stanley.
