Cotton industry stands by its record
The cotton industry is commending the findings from the South Australian Murray Darling Basin Royal Commission.
It called out the reputation of the industry, saying farmers have been almost “demonised” and claims of farmers being greedy should be rejected.
But the industry body is warning if all of the recommendations were adopted, it’d have huge ramifications for the industry, and towns across the basin.
Cotton Australia is also dismissing a proposal by Centre Alliance saying it wants to ban the export of the fibre, labelling it as a “reckless stunt”.
