Costco enters the new vehicle market in Australia via it’s warehouses

Costco, the American membership-only warehouse chain rolled out new vehicle
sales from its four NSW warehouses this week. The Costco outlets at Marsden
Park, Crossroads, Auburn and Lake Macquarie. The new vehicle displays are
open to importers and dealers who are expected to develop special deals not
available or negotiable elsewhere, tailored specifically for Costco members.
Costco membership costs $65 per year with executive membership $130 for
exclusive services, rewards and offers. The company currently markets around
775,000 cars a year through its warehouses in the United States and also
operates in the U.K. and Canada. Locally, Costco has 1.5 million members across
15 locations nationally with around 25,000 customers visiting each warehouse
per week. The cars displayed must be available for immediate delivery to
members and the prices for Costco membership customers displayed –
discounts generally running between $1500 and $2500.
