Citroen to launch stylish C5 X crossover wagon in the fourth quarter

David Berthon

Citroen has an interesting new model around the corner in the C5 X crossover wagon – rather innovative in the French tradition which the company suggests is a combination of the elegance of sedan, the dynamism of a wagon and the elevated stance of an SUV.

From any angle this is a good-looking crossover sitting on 19-inch wheels and will be imported in one variant powered by a 1.6-litre turbo four-cylinder with 133kW of power, 250Nm of torque driving through an eight-speed automatic.

Pricing has not yet been confirmed but given recent price increases on  Citroen models expected to be around $60,000 drive-away. What makes the C5-X interesting is its elevated SUV stance – the interior looks sumptuous with advanced comfort seats, practical passenger and luggage space and an impressive dash layout with large 12-inch touchscreen.
