Citroen gives its small C3 hatch a mid-life update with more standard features

David Berthon

Citroen Australia has given its small C3 hatch a mid-life update with more standard features. The appealing small French hatch now comes in just one grade, dubbed Shine, at $28,990 but gains front parking sensors, new design 16-inch alloy wheels, new LED daytime running lights and what Citroen call advanced comfort seating with a specific padding design. Visually, Airbumps on the side doors which distinguish each Citroen have been re-designed whilst there’s a number of new colour combinations. Importantly, the excellent 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine remains unchanged linked to a six-speed automatic. Price rises across the 2021 Citroen range due to exchange rate pressure announced last August have somewhat stifled sales of the innovative French brand and just 17 left showrooms nationally in January. Despite a $2,000 price lift standard equipment on the C3 is high with autonomous emergency braking, satellite navigation, a reversing camera, rear parking sensors and keyless entry and start. Warranty 5 years/ unlimited kilometre.
