Cardiovascular disease and diabetes are two conditions that are commonly spoken about. But did you know that cardiovascular disease is the biggest cause of death among people with diabetes?

Cardiovascular disease is an overarching term that includes heart, stroke and blood vessel diseases. Cardiovascular disease is one of Australia’s largest health problems, as it accounts for 1 in 4 deaths.  Diabetes is an ongoing health condition where your blood sugar levels are higher than normal. The connection between the heart and diabetes is more important than many people may be aware.

San cardiologist Dr Charles Nelson joins John Stanley to discuss this link between the two.
