Car sharing gaining popularity during coronavirus crisis

Car dealers report some of the toughest trading conditions in memory with car sales figures for March expected to see a big fall in numbers. However, one area that’s doing well is car-sharing and car-subscriptions services – companies such as Go Get and Car Next Door reporting a surge in business – many customers concerned about using public transport due to contamination fears and new social distancing measures are accessing car sharing models to do essential shopping and other duties. Paying for the use of a car on the day you actually need it makes sense when in isolation against an ownership model with its ongoing costs like registration, insurance and depreciation especially when its sitting doing nothing for the rest of the week. As such there’s been a lift in the people looking to sell their cars.
