Budget putting a strong focus on rural health

Doctors are describing record budget investment in general practice as a “game-changer”.

The Federal Government is offering more incentives to GPs, to bulk-bill pensioners, concession card holders and children under 16.

Labor hopes the measure will stop emergency departments being the first point of call.
