Banana disease sparks industry concerns

A disease affecting banana crops is bringing businesses in the Northern Territory to a standstill.

Banana freckle has been detected in at least 17 properties in the Top End, prompting movement restrictions to be brought in for affected farms.

Rural Reporter Rhiannon Soliman-Marron caught up with Northern Territory Farmers Association Chief Executive Paul Burke, to talk more about the disease’s potential impact on the industry.
