Audi lifts its warranty from three years to five years/unlimited kilometre.

David Berthon

Audi Australia has extended its factory new car warranty from three years to five years/unlimited kilometre on all new Audi’s sold from January 1. The extended warranty had been part of a retail incentive from the beginning of last year but has now been made a permanent offering. The move brings Audi into line with rivals including Mercedes-Benz, Lexus, Land Rover, Genesis, Jaguar and Volvo.

And puts it ahead of other luxury brands including BMW, Alfa Romeo, Mini, Porsche and Maserati. In addition to the new five-year warranty Audi offers 12 years manufacturer warranty for bodywork against corrosion perforation. According to Director of Audi Australia, Paul Sansom, “We’ve listened to our customers and are proud to make our five year warranty a permanent feature of the Audi ownership experience.” The luxury brands have been slow to grow their warranties, but competitive pressure is expected to see the remaining brands fall into line.
