PM on Julie Bishop’s future: ‘If she wants to do something else that’s up to her’
The Prime Minister says he doesn’t know any more than the public about whether Julis Bishop will contest the next election.
Former Victorian Premier Jeff Kennett believes Ms Bishop and fellow Liberal Party veteran Kevin Andrews should make room new faces.
Ms Bishop hit back with a short statement saying, “I am preselected as the member for Curtin and it is my intention to run”.
Scott Morrison tells Ben Fordham that is the full extent of his knowledge on the matter.
“I can only tell you what she’s just told you herself.
“I’d love Julie to continue to remain, but if she wants to do something else that’s up to her.”

Mr Morrison disagrees with Jeff Kennett’s call for fresh faces in the Liberal Party, saying it’s important to have a variety of experience.
“You need youth, you need talent but you also need experience.
“Everyone’s got a role to play. It doesn’t matter whether you’re older or you’re younger or you’re male or you’re female.
“All this identity politics, frankly, is getting a bit tiring.”
