A water main has burst at the shops in Blacktown.

The burst has caused traffic dramas and forced the rescue of two women trapped inside the shops by the rising waters.

Outside of Main Street, Sydney Water is saying supply is now being returned to suburbs including Blacktown, Kings Langley and Kings Park.

Fire & Rescue Superintendent Adam Dewberry told Chris O’Keefe that the women are now safe.
