Peter Dutton returns fire on sidelined senator’s ‘hand grenade’

Mark Levy

The Defence Minister says “there’s no excuse” for exiting senator Concetta Fierravanti-Wells’ spray on the Prime Minister.

After experiencing pre-selection disappointment, Ms Fierravanti-Wells described Scott Morrison as “a bully” who has “no moral compass”.

Peter Dutton told Ray Hadley while he respects Ms Fierravanti-Wells, “it’s sad to see her in this position”.

“She’s got issues with people in New South Wales,” he said. “The behaviour is unacceptable.”

“I would never be in a position where I was criticising my party.

“I think it’s sad for Connie, I think it’s sad for the Liberal Party but in the end, I think most people turn the next page on these internal matters.”
