Peta Credlin says Deputy PM ‘on life support’
Peta Credlin says the Deputy Prime Minister’s comments on ‘marriage’ were not accidental.
Barnaby Joyce and Deputy Prime Minister Michael McCormack have been taking swipes at each other in the media.
Mr Joyce referred to himself as the “elected Deputy Prime Minister of Australia,” in a recent interview.
The former deputy PM said the Nationals are “not married to the Liberal Party”.
When asked about the comment Mr McCormack said, “I understand when you have a marriage it’s a two-way relationship,” appearing to reference Mr Joyce’s failed marriage.
Ms Credlin tells Ben Fordham Mr McCormack’s comments were “absolutely not” an accident.
“I think those inside the National Party… are pretty disappointed with McCormack.
“It’s absolutely on and McCormack is basically on life support.”
Former Labor Senator Graham Richardson says the former deputy prime minister should not be reinstated.
“McCormack may have failed to cut through, but that doesnt mean you go back to someone who many people are never going to forgive.”
