Charities are being encouraged to snap up perishable goods at risk of being thrown out.

Independent Food Distributors Australia Deputy Chair Brad Lee told Ben Fordham cheeses and cream are the goods mainly up for grabs.

“There’s millions of dollars of food sitting in fridges and freezers.

“Our conundrum is donate or dump.”
