Pay rise vs workplace culture: Which one matters more to you?

Australians are more likely to value workplace culture over a raise.

A Global Talent Trends survey found 66 per cent of people are willing to accept a lower salary, or give up a pay rise, in return for a better work-life balance and better workplace culture.

HR expert Aaron McEwan told Deborah Knight that rising inflation may change that.

“Australians, unlike the rest of the world, have never really rated compensation as the most important thing.

“They’ve always valued work-life balance, respect, quality of their managers, location.”
