‘Patently inadequate’: aged care funding not keeping pace with inflation

Following Labor’s promise to fix the crisis in aged care, funding to the sector has increased at a rate much lower than inflation. 

With operating costs to rise between four and seven per cent, increases to subsidies are a mere 1.7 per cent.

CEO of the Aged and Community Providers Association Paul Sadler said, “Unfortunately it’s patently inadequate,

“Effectively it’s a real cut to the purchasing power our aged care providers have.”

Mr Sadler also weighed-in with his thoughts as to whether the Labor government will keep their pre-election promise.
