In celebration of Do Something Day Parramatta Eels legend Nathan Hindmarsh is doing his bit to inspire disadvantaged kids to keep active.

Today, Ben Fordham is presenting live from Wenty Leagues where a donation box for sporting equipment was set up.

Nathan is presenting the donated goods to Youth Off The Street’s Father Chris Riley.

The former rugby star tells Ben “it’s a great idea and it’s a great initiative”.

“I’ve got to know Father Chris over the last half-dozen years and I’ve learnt a lot more about what happens (with the program).

“I’ve been good, I grew up in a good household, had food, everything I needed, a bed at night time.

“I’ve gone out and seen what the kids of today, some of the homeless, have to deal with and it’s tough conditions.”

Father Chris tells Ben it’s important to recognise the importance of these programs all year-round.
