Parents will be given $100 to get their kids moving

From today, parents in NSW are eligible for a $100 voucher to get their kids playing sport.

The Active Kids program, launched by the state government, subsidises the cost of registration and participation in sports for school-aged children.

Sport Minister Stuart Ayres tells Ray Hadley more about the program.

“It’s putting money back into the pockets of your listeners and mums and dads all around NSW.

“We’ve already got over 40 sports registered in the program now, that represents over 7,000 clubs and associations.”

Mr Ayres says if clubs try to raise their prices off the back of the handout, they will be caught.
